Norma Jean (Dyer) Conaway

Norma Jean Conaway, nee Dyer, of Bixby, Missouri passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Salem, Missouri at the age of 88 years and 3 days. She was born June 22, 1934 in Boss, Missouri to George Dyer and Virgie Dyer, nee Sellers. On February 16, 1957, she was united in marriage to Elick Conaway and to this union one daughter was born.

She had attended Lookout Assembly of God in Davisville for several years. Norma always enjoyed gardening, attending her flowers and the years she spent deer hunting and mushroom hunting with Elick. She always loved being with any of her family and cooking for them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Virgie Dyer; daughter, Jeanette Conaway; her husband, Elick Conaway; four brothers, Delbert Dyer, Gilbert (Joyce) Dyer, Herman Dyer and Norman (Mary) Dyer; three sisters, Thelma (Jim) Halbert, Alma (Willard)Tinker and infant Wilma Dyer; brothers and sister-in-law, Clent (Martha) Martin, Ervin Conaway, Hollie Conaway, Harvie Conaway, Robert Conaway, Jr. and Pearl Stone.

She is survived by two sisters, Erma Martin of Valley Park, MO and Betty Short of Tulsa, OK; niece and caregiver, Carren Dotson of Bixby, MO; sister-in-law, Aleta Dyer of Boss, MO; other relatives; and friends.

The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022 with Rev. Paul Davis officiating. Special music of "Amazing Grace" and "Precious Memories" was played.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Viburnum, MO.
