Norma Roseanna (Parrett) Smith

Norma Roseanna Smith, nee Parrett, age, 82 years, 1 month and 4 days, of Salem, Missouri passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2019. She was born October 26, 1937 in Cherryville, Missouri to Elbert and Myrna Petty Parrett. In May of 1954 in Cherryville, she was united in marriage to Jimmie Smith and to this union four daughters were born.

She was a member of the Cherryville Baptist Church for many years. Norma had been a Sunday school teacher at one time and also had sung in the church choir. She had been employed at International Shoe in Salem for several years some time ago. Norma loved working in her garden, especially growing roses and irises. She enjoyed bowling with her friends on a bowling league and giving hugs to all. Most of all, she loved her family, God and country.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Elbert and Myrna Parrett; brothers, Glenn Parrett, Clarence Parrett and infant James Parrett; brother-in-law, Clinton Hewkin; and sister-in-law, Catherine Parrett.

She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband of sixty-five years, Jimmie Smith of Salem, MO; four daughters, Pamela (Robert) Wedemeier of St. Louis, MO, Debbie (Rocky) Eaton of Ozark, MO, Linda (Leroy) Speights of St. Louis, MO and Kathy (Delbert) Stephens of Salem, MO; one sister, Ruby Hewkin of St. Louis, MO; three brothers, Paul (Freda) Parrett of Florissant, MO, Carl Parrett of Steelville, MO and Lonnie (Cheryl) Parrett of St. Louis, MO; and sister-in-law, Flo Parrett of Nevada: eight grandchildren, Zachary, Alexander and Jason Thompson, Melissa, Vincent and Rocky R. Eaton, Leroy “Lee” Speights, Jr. and Johnnie Volner; thirteen great-grandchildren, Max and Mason Tieman-Thompson, Zach and Zoey Eaton, Sophia Schilling, Bella and Ellie Ford, Mila and Pippa Eaton, Kassidee Speights, Kaelyn, Micah and Kenadee Volner; many other relatives; and friends. She will deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

The Family received friends and celebrate her life from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Pastor Doug Windle officiating. Special music of "Amazing Grace", "Peace in the Valley" and "When I get to Where I am Going"  was played. A poem was ready by granddaughter, Melissa Ford.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Cherryville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Honored to be casket bearers were Alex Thompson, Jason Thompson, Rocky Eaton, Vincent Eaton, Lee Speights, Jr. and Johnie Volner.
