Ollie Louise “Lou” Singleton of St. Louis, Missouri passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Delmar Gardens South in St. Louis at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 27 days. She was born February 12, 1947 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to James and Ola Manuel Singleton.
Lou was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in St. Louis for 70 years. She loved her baby dolls, playing Bingo and listening to music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ola Singleton; and one sister, Gloria Johnson.
She is survived by a son, Tommy Singleton of St. Louis, MO; seven siblings, Ina Viviano of St. Peters, MO, Kathryn (Bob) Clark of CA, Joyce Gilpin of St. Louis, MO, Willis (Heather) Singleton of Lehigh Acres, FL, Lee (Joe) Finch of Smithton, IL, Cheryl (Tom) Winter of Petoskey, MI and Jesse Singleton of St. James, MO; and ; nieces, nephews, other relatives; and friends.
The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until service on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special memories were shared by her sister, Ina. Music of "I'll Fly Away" and "Amazing Grace" was played.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery.
Honored to be casket bearers were Leo Arnold, Jr., Alex Finch, Mark Arnold, Brian Johnson, Willis Singleton and Jacob Parmeley.
