Otis Leroy Hayes

Otis Leroy Hayes of Ironton, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 in Pilot Knob, Missouri at the age of 68 years and 14 days. He was born November 19, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri to Virgil Lesley Hayes and Bernice Zelma Copling Hayes. Otis grew up in Steelville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Bernice Hayes; two sisters, Mary Ann McGuire and Connie Golden; and one brother, Roger Hayes.

He is survived by seven brothers, Virgil, David, Donald, Robert, James, Curtis, and Noah; four sisters, Zelma Alexander, Edith Massey, Daisy Abbott and Jane Young; nieces, nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Steelville Cemetery with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special music of "He Loved me Like I was His Only Child" was sung and played on guitar by Rev. Bob Coleman.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery.
