Rita Fay Wasson, nee Bobbitt, of Seaton, Missouri entered heaven on Friday, May 8, 2020 surrounded by her family at the age of sixty-one years, 5 months and 18 days. She was born November 20, 1958 in Columbia, Missouri to Fredrick Franklin Bobbitt and Addie Elizabeth Stringer Bobbitt. On February 14, 2018 in Mexico, Missouri she was united in marriage to Randy Wasson.

Rita was a member of the Winkler Baptist Church. She loved playing music whether it was on the banjo, piano, mandolin, guitar or fiddle, she was blessed by an amazing talent. Rita also loved to paint, to garden and crocheting. When she was a young girl she loved horses and participating in horse shows. Her true love was her family and her grandchildren however.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Addie Bobbitt; two brothers, Marion (JoAn) Bobbitt and William “Bill” Bobbitt; one sister, Mary Lou (Tom) LaPlant; and three grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Randy Wasson of Seaton, MO; one son, James (Amber) Wasson of Seaton, MO; two daughters, Rebecca (Malcom) Bridges of West Plains, MO and Felicia (Allan) Studeny of Bourbon, MO; eleven grandchildren, Solana, Savannah, Malcom and Jackson Bridges of West Plains, MO, Zayda, Addie and Allan Studeny of Bourbon, MO and Makiah, Marissa, Ayedin and Liam Wasson of Seaton, MO; one brother, Jim Bobbitt of Columbia, MO; one sister, Joyce (Oval) Phares of Cherryville, MO; other relatives; special friends, Winkler Baptist Church Family; and many other friends.

The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Jerry Lea officiating. A poem was read by Korina Lea that Rita had written. Special music of "Further Along" was sung and played by The Vaughn Family, Dennis, Robin and Allison. Other music of "In the Garden", "Save a Place for Me", "Supermarket Flowers" and "Your Moma" was played. The Family and friends joined in to sing "I'll Fly Away." Memories were shared by son, James Wasson and Brent Booker.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Morrison Cemetery, Seaton, MO.

Honored to be serving as casket bearers were Dennis Vaughn, Brent Booker, David Booker, Vernon Booker, Frank Henry and Ed Carter.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
