Robert Hutson

Robert Hutson of Steelville, Missouri passed away Friday December 3, 2021 at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 14 days. He was born September 19, 1937 in Keysville, Missouri to Santa Hutson and Rose Oxendine Hutson. On November 19, 1963, he was united in marriage to Mary King at Courtois Baptist Church in Berryman and to this union two children were born.

Robert was employed as a carpenter at Banta and Stude in St. Louis for several years until he retired. He was a member of the Local Union #2119. He loved the outdoors whether hunting rabbits or deer. He was an avid horseman, loved going on trail rides and was a member of the Ozark Trail Blazers. He also enjoyed driving his side by side. Robert was known to be able to fix anything. He loved his time with family and especially the grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Santa and Rose Hutson, five sisters, Dovie (Ed) Conaway, Pat (Richard) Ogle, Bernice Dierking, Edith Cornick and Grace Rogers; brother-in-law, Bob Phenix; and sister-in-law, Marion Hutson.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hutson of Steelville, MO; one son, Bobby (Christina) Hutson of Steelville, MO; one daughter, Rhonda (Mike) Mounce of Cuba, MO; two brothers, Howard Hutson of Steelville, MO and Rainey (Brenda) Hutson of Cuba, MO; two sisters, Cecelia (Sidney) Ransom and Elizabeth Phenix of Steelville, MO brothers-in-law, Ervin Dierking of Sullivan, MO, Dave Cornick of Steelville, MO and Jim Rogers of Sullivan, MO; five grandchildren, Rusty (Jane) Mounce, Ryan (Keilah) Mounce, Jacob Mounce, Kaylee Hutson and Dalton Hutson; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Kelee, and Kilee McKnight, Makayla and Waylon Mounce; other relatives; and friends.

The Family received family and friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Mounce officiating and Ryan Mounce reading the obituary. Special music of "What a Day Yesterday Was", "Whose Gonna Fill Their Shoes" and "Brand New Star in Heaven Tonight" was played. Other music of "Through It All" and "Amazing Grace" was played and sung by Casey and Ashley Thornton.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Cherryville First Baptist Church Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.

The Hutson Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
