Robert "Bob" Becker Obituary

Robert “Bob” Charles Becker of Steelville, Missouri went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in his home at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 8 days. Bob was born April 2, 1944 in Rolla, Missouri to Edward James Becker and Hildred Martha Hendrix Becker. He was united in marriage to Linda Kay Brown on June 5, 1965 at the Steelville First Baptist Church and to this union two daughters and one son was born.

Bob served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He had been a member of the Straightway Baptist Church for over thirty years and served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He and Linda had been attending the Steelville First Baptist Church in the last several months.

After twenty-eight years with Boeing in St. Louis, Bob retired and found himself just as busy around home as ever. He enjoyed woodworking, making many pieces, such as porch swings, baby cradles, shelves, boxes and gun cabinets for his family and for friends. He often took time to turkey hunt or go fishing at Big River or the Missouri River. Most of all he loved being around his family and babysitting when needed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Hildred Becker; and parents-in-law, Chester and Alma Brown.

Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Linda Becker of Steelville, MO; three children, Lisa (Steve) Adams, Laura (Tony) Martin and Jim (Valley) Becker all of Steelville, MO; eight grandchildren, Emily (Mark) Pfeiffer, Kaitlin (Lucas) Harmon, Abigail (Michael) Mitchell, Brooklyn Adams, Jessica (Zac) Driskill, Shannon (Jarek) Nash, Dylan Becker and Garrett Becker; great-grandchildren, Ila Pfeiffer, Abram Pfeiffer, Aurora Pfeiffer, Victoria Pfeiffer, Lawson Campbell and Lucy Harmon;  one brother, James (Maggie) Becker of AL; two sisters, Susan (Ken) Chymiak of Overland Park, KS and Helen Becker of Creve Coeur, MO; sisters-in-law, Karen (Alan) Miles and Vicki (Steve) Sexton all of Steelville, MO; other relatives; and many friends.
