Ronal "Macho" "Ronnie" Leo Mason of Viburnum, Missouri passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 in Salem, Missouri at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 20 days. Ronnie was born June 7, 1940 in Courtois, Missouri to Haskel and Sadie Badgley Mason. On February 7, 1970 in Viburnum, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Elaine Gibson and to this union two children were born.
Ronnie was Viburnum's well known barber and had worked in that profession for fifty-eight years retiring in October 2016. He was a member of the Viburnum Methodist Church for several years. Ronnie always enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing softball along with other sports and attending the Viburnum High School sports events for many years. Since he was so respected in the area, Ronnie was named Grand Marshal of the Old Miner's Day parade in 2015. He loved being able to enjoy the outdoors and nature and had one of the most beautiful yards in the area.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Glenda Sellers and Hilda Sargent.
Ronnie will be sadly missed by his wife of forty-seven years, Elaine Mason of Viburnum, MO; one son, Ronald Scott Mason of St. Louis, MO; one daughter, Yvonne Bobbitt and husband Danny of Dillard, MO; one brother-in-law, Richard Gibson and wife Dolores of Utah; two grandchildren, Leah Mason and Loman Bobbitt; two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Sumpter and Ian Sumpter; other relatives and many friends.
The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Pastor Dennis Conway officiating and Ron Brodwater giving the eulogy. Other memories were shared by Stephanie Brodwater. Special music of "Amazing Grace", "You Raise me up" and "Go Rest High was played.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Lower Indian Creek Cemetery at Viburnum, MO.
Honored to be casket bearers were Ronnie Brodwater, Austin Brodwater, Norm Robinson, Terry Baird, Bill Moslander and Danny Bobbitt with Loman Bobbitt as honorary.
The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
