Rose “Marie” (Green) Martin

Rose “Marie” Martin, nee Green, of Cherryville, Missouri passed away Monday, January 10 , 2022 at the Woodlands in Arnold, Missouri at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 29 days. She was born October 12, 1932 in Davisville to John Edward Green and Mabel Fannie Brown Green.

Marie was united in marriage to Glen Junior Martin on September 12, 1951 in Davisville and to this union a son and a daughter were born.

She attended Center Ridge Pentecostal Church for many years. Marie was employed at Brown Shoe Company in Steelville for several years.

Marie always loved taking care of her family whether it was cooking, sewing or gardening. She also was so interested in helping others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mabel Green; her husband, Glen of fifty-six years; son, Ronnie Martin; son-in-law, Gary Nelson; sisters, infant Linda Louise Green and Oma (Paul) Smith; brothers, infant Charles Green, John (Shirley) Green, Jr., Kenneth (Doris Green Wilkinson) Green and Jimmie Green; brothers-in-law, Leroy Tidwell, Steve Dunn, Leroy Jones, Oren Martin and Buck Martin; and sisters-in-law, Mary Green, Ada (Freddie) Thorpe and Lorraine Martin.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Glenda (fiancé, Doug Warren) Nelson of Arnold, MO; granddaughters, Tonya Munie and Heather (Gary) Fries; great-grand-children, Eric Munie, Melanie Munie, Marina Fries and Cianna Fries; sister, Barb (Fred) Mertz of Cherryville, MO; brothers, Harold (Linda) Green of Cherryville, MO, Joe (Glenda) Green of Davisville, MO and Curt Green of St. Charles, MO; brother-in-law and sisters-in- law, Bob (Charlotte) Martin of Eureka, MO, Erma Dunn of Rolla, MO, Cleta Hartman of Sullivan, MO and Melba Martin of Davisville, MO; other relatives; and friends.

The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 with Pastor Harrison Brown officiating. Special music of "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beulah Land" was sung by Bob and Carol Coleman with Shirley Brown as the pianist.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Eric Munie, Kevin Green, Gary Fries, Brian Green, Steve Smith and Harold Green.

The Martin Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville.
