Sandra Jo Sellers

Sandra Jo Sellers, age 66 years, 9 months and 25 days, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026 at her home in Dillard, MO

Sandra was born May 1, 1959 to Gilbert and Geraldine (Skaggs) Sellers in Steelville, MO.  She graduated in 1977 from Viburnum High School.

She worked for several years as a nurse’s aide at Gibbs Care Center and also as a guide at Dillard Mill State Park.  Guiding at the mill was a special calling for her as she took great interest in the history of the area and her family.

Sandra had an immense love for her pets; cats, dogs and squirrels.  She referred to them as her children.  In her middle years she became a very good deer hunter and loved fishing, taking after her father.  She and Bob also loved cave exploring and rappelling.  She was an avid collector of glassware, figurines, and dishes and was a dedicated St Louis Cardinals fan; win or lose.

An interesting gift she possessed was her “Card Ministry”.  She would mail birthday, graduation, get well, condolence cards to everyone she knew and many people she had never met.  It meant everything to her to let people know that someone cared.  It was evidence of her private and deeply held faith in God.

Sandra will be lovingly missed by her close companion of 36 years, Bob Gapsch; her mother Geraldine Sellers of the home place; brother Alan (Kim) Sellers of Jackson, MO; nephew, Joshua (Emily Vines) of Cape Girardeau, MO; two nieces, Katherine (Hayden Phillips) of St Louis, MO and Molly (Daniel Loveland) of Springfield, MO; cousin Mike O’Conner of Logansport, IN and special cousins Brenda, Carla and Tina Sellers of Viburnum, MO. Also an uncle Gary Skaggs of Cuba, MO; and an aunt Kathy (Mike Reeves) of St Louis; plus many other aunts, cousins, friends and many Facebook friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Sellers; uncle and aunt Ed and Thelma Sellers; aunt and uncle Glenna and Don O’Conner; uncles Leon, Bill, Don and Marvin Skaggs and an aunt Mary Shrout.

Sandra chose cremation as her final disposition.

 A Celebration of Life will be held at Sellers Cemetery on Sunday, May the 3rd,  2026 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. for family and friends.

There will be a Private Family Inurnment.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sandra's name may be given to the Sellers Cemetery, 334 Sellers Rd., Davisville, MO  65456
