Sandra "Sandy" Brinkley Obituary

Sandra “Sandy” Kay Brinkley, nee Farrar, left this life on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan at the age of 61 years, 10 months and 23 days. She was born May 1, 1964 in Sullivan, Missouri to Raymond and Estella Dulany Farrar.

Sandy was a Steelville High School graduate of1982.  During a time period in 1985 while turkey hunting with friends, she met her husband to be. On April 3, 1993 in Steelville, she was united in marriage to Gene Brinkley and would have been celebrating 33 years of marriage next  month.

She was employed for a number of years at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James.

Sandy attended the Steelville Assembly of God Church and was baptized by Bro. Jerry Beers in 2024.

In her younger days, Sandy enjoyed bowling and in her later years loved to hunt deer and play golf. She loved spending her time with Gene and enjoyed being a big supporter of Steelville School sports and more. Sandy enjoyed her days sitting outside watching birds, loving their dog, Fannie or on the phone with friends and family. She was also a very caring person who was a caretaker for her family and others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Estella Farrar; sisters, Gail Hutson and Barbara (Stanley) Berry; brother-in-law, Albert Archuleta

She is survived by her husband, Gene Brinkley of Steelville, MO; step-children, Karen Marshall (fiancé’ Brad Wise) of Steelville, MO and Renee (Sako) Beudjekian of Newport Beach, CA; step-grandchildren, Nick Marshall, Garrett (Grace) Marshall, Hayden Marshall, Johnny and Jackson Bendjekian; brother and sisters, Tim (Sandy) Farrar and Tena (Ronnie) Slovensky all of Steelville, MO, Alice Archuleta of Columbia, MO and Tammy (Joe) Dean of Highland, IL; brother-in-law, Rainey Hutson of Cuba, MO; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

The Family received friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

A Celebration of Life was held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of "Amazing Grace" was sung by Hayden Marshall and played on guitar by Joe Dean. Other music played was "Knowing What I Know About Heaven" and "I'll Fly Away."

The service was Live-streamed on the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home Facebook page.

The Family chose cremation as the final disposition.
