Saundra Berniece (Smith) Cummings

Saundra Berniece Cummings, nee Smith, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at her daughter’s home surrounded by family at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 14 days. She was born in St. Louis to Richard and Edna Bone Smith on July 26, 1957.

Saundra was employed at Orscheln Products in Moberly for several years.

She always loved playing her guitar whether classic country or classic rock music. Saundra enjoyed watching scary movies, swimming and shopping on QVC throughout the year where she would be prepared for her Christmas lists. She was well known for being such a giving person. Most of all she loved being with her family and all of the grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Edna Smith; brother, Bradley Smith; and two sisters, Brenda Smith and Zoah Smith.

She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Stephen Keith of Bonne Terre, MO and Jacob Cummings of Keytesville, MO; two daughters, Crystal Cummings of St. Louis, MO and Jessica Cummings (Brandon Black) of Steelville, MO; two sisters, Kimberley Lockett of Moberly, MO and Mary Smith of Cuba, MO; nine grandchildren, Julia Keith, Trever Keith, Sophia Patterson, Tayla Emily, Saundra Weir, Tylor DeRennaux, Brenda DeRennaux, Blayden Black and Olivia Black; two great-grandchildren, Carter Slinkard and Brooklyn DeRennaux; other relatives; and friends.

The Family received friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 with Rev. Bob Coleman. Special music of "Amazing Grace", "If Heaven", "Farewell Party" and "Go Rest High" was played.

The Family chose cremation at the final disposition.

The Cummings Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
