Sharon Kay Martin of Steelville, Missouri passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Phelps Health in Rolla at the age of 61 years, 6 months and 1 day. She was born August 26, 1960 in Kansas City, Kansas to James Christian Beatty and Mildred Loretta Smith Beatty. On December 18, 2003, she was united in marriage to Charles Elmer Martin, Jr.
Sharon was employed at Doe Run for several years. She loved her dogs and going camping. Sharon also enjoyed playing computer games.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mildred Beatty; one brother, Jimmy Beatty; two sisters, Christine Miller and Bobbie Asher.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Martin, Jr. of Steelville; two sons, Donald (companion, Angel) Carter and Danny Carter all of Bolivar, MO; three daughters, Stephanie (Travis) Nance of Kansas City, KS, Tiffany (companion, Charley) Clark of Springfield, MO and Jamie Beatty of Steelville, MO; two sons-in-law, Charles A. (April) Martin of Salem, MO and Billy Joe (Donna) Martin of Springfield, MO; two sisters, Frances Pawloski of Nixa, MO and Donna (John) Willis; brother-in-law, Chris (Donna) Martin of FL; grandchildren, Dwight Beatty, Garion Beatty, Sara Crawford, Layla Crawford, Baby Rodney Carter and many more; three great-grandchildren; other relatives; and friends.
The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special music of "Before You Go", "Wine, Beer, Whiskey" and "Against the Wind" was played. Memories were shared by Garion Beatty and Frances Pawloski.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.
Honored to be casket bearers were Donald Carter, Danny Carter, Dwight Beatty, Garion Beatty, James F. Fagan and James N. Fagan.
