Susan Cary (DeGonia) Gargus

Susan Cary Gargus, nee DeGonia, of St. James, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her home at the age of 68 years and 7 months. She was born August 21, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri to George W. DeGonia and Marple I. Parkins DeGonia. She married Vic Gargus and to this union five sons were born.

Susan graduated from Steelville High School. She attended the Baptist Church. Susan enjoyed crossword puzzles and video games. Most of all she enjoyed her family and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Donald L. Gargus, Virgil V. Gargus III, Terry "Michael" Gargus and wife Leah and Christopher Wayne Gargus and wife Kim all of St. James, MO and John A. Gargus and wife Delicia of Gulfport, MS; one sister-in-law, Judy DeGonia of Sullivan, MO; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, James William DeGonia.

Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Pastor Shannon Roark officiating. Memories were shared by Leah Gargus, Pam Bradshaw and Don Gargus. Special music of "Stand by Me", "One Day at a Time", "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" and "Family Bible was played.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Keysville Cemetery, Keysville, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Donald Gargus, John Gargus, Michael Gargus, Mark Gargus, Christopher Gargus and Tommy Plank with honorary as James DeGonia, Jr., Jason DeGonia and Joshua DeGonia.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
