Thomas "Tom" Darrell Day

Thomas “Tom” Darrell Day of Cherryville,  Missouri passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026 in his home at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 11 days.

He was born September 22, 1957 in St. Louis, MO to Cletus Day and Laverne Landwehr Day. Tom graduated from Fox High School in 1977. On July 7, 1995 in Hillsboro, MO, he was united in marriage to Rhonda Gamble.

Tom was employed as a pipefitter with Union Pipefitters in St. Louis, retiring after several years and was a proud member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562.

He was raised in the Catholic faith.

Tom loved the outdoors and could be found hunting deer and turkey, fishing, riding his Harley panhead, camping or riding horses or mules.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Laverne Day; one son, Shane Gamble; one brother, Ron Day; one sister, Doris Hittler; sister-in-law, Debbie Day; and brother-in-law, Ron Gamble; and great niece, Bethany Day.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Day, of the home; grandson, Paden Gamble; 7 brothers, Roger (Kathy) Day, Mark (Brenda) Day, Greg Day, Gordon (Joy) Day, Jeff (Christy) Day, Jim Day and Scott Day; brothers-in-law, Ed Hittler, Wayne (Judy) Gamble, Mark Gamble and Mike Gamble; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.

The Family chose cremation as the final disposition.

There will be a Private Family Celebration of Tom’s life later in the Summer.

The Day Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.
