Timothy “Adam” Yount of Steelville, Missouri passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 in his home at the age of 42 years. He was born on April 7, 1979 in Farmington, Missouri to Timothy Raymond Yount and Victoria Eye Yount.
Adam grew up in Potosi and attended Potosi High School. He earned his GED and attended college and earned his associate’s degree in music. At the age of 17, he went to work at Karsch’s Market in Potosi where he showed interest in the meat department as a butcher. Adam worked at Town & Country market before working at Shop and Save, where he first met the love of his life who eventually became “The Butcher’s Wife”, Beth, whom he married on January 27, 2004. They both worked at Frick’s Market in Sullivan. He and Beth had a dream to own their own business and worked very hard together to make that dream come true when they opened the Singing Butcher Shoppe in May of 2021.
Adam’s family was very musical and Adam was a naturally gifted singer/songwriter. He and his friend, Matthias Schmidt had their own band, “Idea Men” and played at venues when they had the chance.
Adam’s childhood was filled with riding dirt bikes and fishing with his friends. He loved to scour the creeks and riverbanks to collect unique rocks. He also enjoyed looking for arrow heads around the Indian burial mounds – history was intriguing to him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Travis Eye, paternal grandparents, Raymond and Lena Yount; his father, Timothy Raymond Yount, his brother, Seth Elijah Yount.
His beautiful soul will live on through all the lives he touched, including his wife, Beth Yount of Steelville, MO; two sons, Ben (Maureen) of PA and Cyrus Yount (fiancée, Jordan Lingle) of Festus, MO; two grandchildren, Makiyah and Mathias; mother, Victoria Yount of Potosi; brother, Noah (Shanna) Yount of Potosi, MO; sister, Carah (Van) Watson of Potosi, MO; maternal grandmother, Rachel Eye; brother-in-law, Kevin (Sue) Henderson of Florissant, MO; nieces and nephews, Kellen and Maddix Watson and Sadie and River Yount; band-mate, Matthias (Sophia) Schmidt and their two daughters Viola and Josephine, honorary brother, David Eye, honorary sister, Melissa Nelson; other relatives; and many friends.
