Velita Rose (Fulliam) Padgett

Velita Rose Padgett, nee Fulliam, of St. Clair, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 60 years, 8 months and 1 day. She was born July 6, 1959 in Cuba, Missouri to Paul and Carolyn Carey Fulliam. On September 6, 1988, she was united in marriage to James “Jim” Robert Padgett.

Velita attended the Lighthouse Church in Viburnum and Rivers of Life in Steelville for several years. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with Jim and loved spoiling all of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Carolyn Fulliam.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of almost thirty-two years, Jim Padgett of St. Clair, MO; one son, Daniel “Danny” (Chris) Sanders of Viburnum, MO; two step-daughters, Melissa Padgett and Sheri Padgett both of Eugene, OR; two brothers, Matthew Fulliam of Gerald, MO and Faron (Dani) Fulliam of Cuba, MO; three sisters, Loretta (Jacob) Shoemake and Pauline (Dave) LeBlanc all of Steelville, MO and Cleta (Jim) Hudson of Republic, MO; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; known as “Aunt Velita” to many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 with Rev. Sharon Hedrick and Rev. Henry Copling officiating with Rev. Carl Callahan giving the welcome and prayer and Dave LeBlanc reading the obituary. Special memories were shared by Brooke Fulliam. Music of "The Spirit in the Sky", Shameless", "Rivers of Life" and "Forever and Ever, Amen" were played.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery.
