Bill Bennett

President/Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Bill Bennett is a 1970 graduate of Salem High School in Salem, MO. He attended Missouri State University and Southwest Baptist University for one year each. In August of 1973, he graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. Bill graduated from William Woods University with his Bachelor of Science Degree in 2001 and in December of 2004, he earned his Masters in Business Administration from WWU. 

For the last several years, he has continued to attend seminars and course offerings in keeping himself and the funeral home updated on the funeral industry. Bill is a past president of the Missouri Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association and was recognized for his 40 years as a funeral director in the state of Missouri. He also was recognized by the National Funeral Director's Association (NFDA)  as being awarded the Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC).  The CPC certification program is considered the standard of excellence in funeral service for individuals who help families plan funerals in advance. In 2017, Bill was awarded the Bob Knell Award from the Missouri Funeral Directors and Embalmer's Association. The award signifies the commitment and passion the profession has meant to a funeral director and all of his outside involvements in the community. Bill has been a licensed funeral director since 1973 and a licensed embalmer since 1974.

Bill has always been involved in the community in which he lives. He is an active member of the First Baptist Church, and the Chamber of Commerce. He is a board member of the Steelville Cemetery and serves on the Steelville City Council.

Liz Bennett

Vice President/Sec./Licensed Funeral Director

Liz (Bowers) Bennett is a 1973 graduate of Salem High School in Salem, MO. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from William Woods University in 1993 and in 2004 received a Masters in Business Administration from WWU. Liz has been a Missouri licensed funeral director since 1980 and was recognized for her 40 years as a funeral director in the state of Missouri.

Liz and Bill have three sons, Ross and wife Nicole, Brandon and wife Ashlee and Lane and wife, Kate; three grandsons, Gavin Nicholas Bennett, Bauer Gerald Bennett and Sterling Edmin Bennett and five granddaughters, Caroline Grace Bennett, Claire Elizabeth Bennett, Olivia Jane Bennett,  Abigail Faith Bennett and Lucy-Mae Bennett.

Liz has been very involved in the community in which she lives and continues to do so in Steelville. Besides being an active member of the First Baptist Church, an active member of the Steelville Chamber of Commerce and a Past- President of  two different terms, she is also board member of the newly structured Steelville Historical Society.

Lane Bennett

Licensed Funeral Director

Lane Bennett is the youngest son of Bill and Liz Bennett. He is a 2009 graduate of William Woods University in Fulton, MO with a degree in Business Administration. 

Lane is a licensed funeral director and a graduate of St. Louis Community College with a degree in Funeral Service. He is also a U.S. Army veteran.

Lane is married to Kate Wells and they have two sons, Bauer Gerald Bennett, Sterling Edmin Bennett and daughter, Lucy-Mae Bennett.

He and his family are currently living in GA.

Carol Coleman

Administrative Assistant

Carol (Brown) Coleman is a native of Cherryville, MO and  has lived there all of her life. She is married to Rev. Bob Coleman and they have one son Josh Coleman.  Josh and his wife Amber have four children.  She is very involved in her church, Center Ridge Pentecostal Church at Davisville, MO. 

Carol works part-time as an administrative assistant.

Bob Coleman is originally from the St. Louis area, but has lived many years at Cherryville, MO. He is married to Carol (Brown) Coleman. He is very involved in his church, Center Ridge Pentecostal Church at Davisville, MO. 

He is a licensed funeral director and ordained minister and works part-time.

Terry Halbert

Funeral Director Assistant

Terry Halbert is a native of Steelville, MO and has lived here all of his life. 

Terry delivers the funeral home's death notices and also works as a funeral director's assistant.
