Bonnie Mae Barton, nee Harris, of Cherryville, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Lesterville, Missouri at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 17 days. She was born May 13, 1931 in Davisville, Missouri to Rev. James "Tommy" Harris and Bessie Jane Bettorf Harris. In June of 1948, she was united in marriage to Eldon Barton and to this union four children were born.

Bonnie attended Midland Pentecostal Assembly Church for many years. She enjoyed traveling, flower gardening, crocheting, quilting and embroidering. She loved to sing and play the piano since she was thirteen years old. Most of all she loved her family and grandchildren and loved being with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Rev. Tommy and Bessie Harris; one brother, William Bernard Harris; two sisters, Mildred Turnbough and husband Cletis and Violet Hewkin and husband Herman; and brothers-in-law, Gilbert Davis, Vincel Cottrell and Jim Martin.

Bonnie is survived by her two sons, Perry Barton and wife Rhonda of Cherryville, MO and David Barton and wife Julana of Springfield, MO; two daughters, Glenda Green and husband Joe of Davisville, MO and Jeanne Duemler and husband Bob of Sullivan, MO. one brother, Thomas Harris and wife Elma of Viburnum, MO; three sisters, Ina Davis and Betty Martin of Steelville, MO and Alline Cottrell of Sullivan, MO; sister-in-law, Gail Barton of Lesterville, MO; ten grandchildren, Brad Green, Stanley (Clarissa) Green, Chad (Becky) Barton, Sarah Henry, Daniel (Kandis) Barton, Gabriel (Melissa) Barton, Colin (Danielle) Barton, Chanda (Dean) Prater, Bryan (Amanda) Smith and James (Whitney Watring) Duemler; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and friends.

The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Pastor Harrison Brown officiating. Special music of "Leavin' my Troubles" was sung by Perry and David Barton and Brad and Stanley Green. Gail Barton sang "Heaven will Surely be Worth it All" and Phyllis Gibbs sang "Go Ahead." Other music of a medley of songs was sung by Brad and Stanley Green and Bob and Carol Coleman. Accompaniment was by Perry Barton and Bob Coleman on guitars and Shirley Brown on piano. Memories were shared by Joe Green.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Martin-Trask Cemetery at Cherryville, MO.

Honored to be casket bearers were Colin Barton, Bradley Green, Bryan Smith, Chad Barton, Stanley Green and Daniel Barton with Gabriel Barton and Jame Duemler as honorary.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
