Bailey Jack Ballard of Steelville, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 in his home at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 22 days. He was born May 9, 1943 in Warrior, Alabama to Gladdin Ballard and Armendie Leary Davis Ballard. In St. Louis, Missouri on April 3, 1965, he was united in marriage to Rose Lee Anderson and to this union two sons were born.
Bailey was a machinist at Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis for twenty-eight years retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Local District 9. Bailey attended the Church of Christ.
He enjoyed watching Alabama football, fishing, playing racket ball and feeding the birds.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Marcella Hart, Violet Picket and Shirley Lemley; and three brothers, Earsie Ballard, Basil Ballard and Joe Ballard.
He will be missed by his wife of fifty-two years, Rose Ballard of Steelville, MO; two sons, Shawn Mark Ballard and wife Michelle of San Angelo, TX and Jeffrey Scott Ballard of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Porsia Ann Anderson of Cullman, AL and Jan Mercer of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; two granddaughters and one great-grandson; other relatives and friends.
The Family chose cremation as the final disposition. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Spring.
