To Ray's entire family: I extend my deepest sympathy and prayers that the Holy Spirit will comfort you in this time of tragedy. In the late 1960s, Ray and I served together in the Joplin Jaycees and Missouri Jaycees and were great personal friends. Ray went on to serve as president of the Joplin Jaycees. I was re-connected with him during the last few years, and had so hoped that we could see each other again; someday we will, and so will you. I'll physically be unable to attend his memorial service, but I know it isn't how we bury him, but how we remember him. The good times with Ray made the best of memories for all of us. He was an extraordinary public servant loving both God and His creation. "Faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human live...service to humanity is the best work of life." Long after the services, you'll be in my prayers. Ray would want you all to keep on keeping on. Continue to be blessed until one fine day when we're joined together with our Lord and Savior.
