Rev. "Ben" Bernard Paul Littrell

Rev. Bernard "Ben" Paul Littrell, 76 years of age, of Rolla, Missouri passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at his home surrounded by his beloved family. He was born June 4, 1939 in Stanton, Missouri to Earl Milton Littrell and Irene Leath Littrell. He was united in marriage to Geraldine "Gerri" Payne in Hernando, MS on November 24, 1958 and to this union three sons and four daughters were born.

Rev. Ben was employed for several years at a trucking firm retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Local 600 Teamster's. Throughout the years, he pastored in the Nazarene Church in Irondale, MO, Ellington, MO and in Cahokia, IL. He was the Associate Pastor in St. Louis at the Lemay Nazarene Church and Heritage Church in Denver, CO and was presently the Sr. Adult Pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Rolla. He was a very active volunteer in helping with the "Missions for the homeless" in Denver, CO and Salvation Army.  After moving to Rolla, he became the Ombudsman for the Phelps County Hospital and was active in helping start the hospital shuttle bus service . He and Gerri were members of the Senior Companions. Throughout the years, he was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan following the family tradition.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of fifty-seven years, Gerri Littrell of Rolla, MO; three sons, David Paul Littrell and wife Lori of Washington, MO, Scott Littrell and wife Suzanne of Topeka, KS and Randy Lee Littrell of Moberly, MO; four daughters, Sandra Lynn Miller and husband Mark of Olatha, KS, Janet Sue Hodges and husband Sam, Tina Cook and husband Darin and Pamela Combs and husband Russell all of Salem, MO; one brother, Daniel Littrell and wife Jody of Richwoods, MO; four brother-in-laws, Arnold Payne and wife Yuni of Leslie, MO, Jim Payne and wife Carmen and Roger Payne and wife Norma all of St. James, MO and Kenneth Payne of Morrison, MO; six sister-in-laws, Pauline Williams of House Springs, MO, Clara Hoerstkamp and companion Joseph Price of Sullivan, MO, Carol Hyatt, Joyce Stufflebean and Deloris Jay and companion Thomas Sidwell all of Rolla, MO and Donna Jarvis of Salem, MO; nineteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter, Kenzlea;  two brothers, George Littrell and Earl "Bub" Littrell and wife June; one sister, Martha Littrell; brother-in-laws, Clarence Williams, Roger Hyatt, Harold Stufflebean, Jr., David Lee Jarvis, Sr. and Gene Jay; and father and mother-in-law, Roba and Gladys Payne.

The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016  and from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Church of the Nazarene in Rolla, MO.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Church of the Nazarene at 1901 East 10th Street, Rolla, MO with Rev. Ron Sluetter officiating. Special music of "Heaven Needs a Hero", "Grandpa, Tell Me about the Good Old Days", "In the Garden" and "Far Side Banks of Jordan" was played. Grandson, Christopher Kiepper,  played the prelude and postlude along with "Victory in Jesus" which was sung by the congregation.  Sharing memories and scripture were Sylvia Self, Brenda and Dorey Provence, daughter and grand-daughter, Sandy Miller and Jamie Kelley, son, David Littrell, daughter, Tina Cook and son, Randy Littrell.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery.

Honored to be casket bearers were Justin Gilbert, Eion Agers, Matt Littrell, Travis Littrell, Brett Combs, Randy Kiepper, Andy Littrell, Chris Littrell and as honorary Ken Littrell, Christopher Kiepper, Eddie Kiepper and Austin Agers.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
