Ruby Maxine Williams, nee Gray, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 6 days. She was born February 3, 1926 in Steelville to Curtis and Myrtle Smith Gray. In Arkansas on April 1945, she was united in marriage to Ward Williams and to this union one son and four daughters were born.
Ruby was of the Baptist faith. For several years, Ruby would travel with her husband, Ward, to the reenactments of Rendezvous in different locations. She and Ward also loved to square dance. Ruby collected porcelain dolls and made rag dolls and bear quilts along with Barbie clothes. She would sell her crafts at the Iron Works at Meramec Springs Park each year.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ward Williams; infant brother, William Gray; and brother-in-law, Jason Blunt.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Terry Williams of Rolla, MO; four daughters, Glenda Heady and husband James of Sullivan, MO, Sandy Thomas and husband Jack of Nolensville, TN, Nena Bond and husband Tim of Steelville, MO and Christine Doss and husband Jack of Berryman; one sister, Elsie Blunt of Steelville, MO; nine grandchildren, Kevin Williams, Nick Williams, Julie Johns, Stacey Bouse, Danny Bond and wife Tanya, Ian Bond and wife Kathy, Melissa Mobley and husband Matt, Stephanie Akey and husband Aaron and Sarah Pratt and husband Brock; fourteen great-grandchildren, Trevor, Christian, Raymond, Jonah, Charlotte, Isaac, Eleanor, Finnegan, Eamon, Jaxon, Elijah, Josie, Ezra and Tyler; other relatives and friends.
The Family received friends on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special music of "Irish Lament", "Precious Memories" and "Irish Funeral March" was played.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Freeman Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.
Honored to be casket bearers were Brock Pratt, Terry Williams, Aaron Akey, Danny Bond, Jack Doss and Trevor Colinares.
The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
